Kid-Friendly New Year’s

December 28th, 2017

Staying up until midnight to ring in the New Year is a time-honored tradition, but one that becomes more difficult with children. As any parent knows, children want to be part of the celebration, no matter the time. Luckily several area businesses and organizations have taken all of this into consideration, and offer kid-centered, family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebrations.

KidsPlay Children’s Museum in Torrington, CT is a unique museum designed to enhance child-directed learning in a family-oriented environment. On December 31, KidsPlay is hosting their “Countdown to Noon” party from 10am-2pm. For details visit this event page.

On December 30, The Scoville Memorial Library in Salisbury, CT will host their annual “New Year’s Eve Party for Kids,” which includes games, activities and refreshments. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

For those looking for a little more adventure, Camp Jewell YMCA in Colebrook, CT offers their weekend-long New Year’s Family Camp from December 29-January 1. In addition to the New Year’s Eve celebration, families can enjoy activities including snow-tubing, hiking, cross-country skiing, arts & crafts and more. Full details can be found here.

No matter what activity you choose, we at Elyse Harney Real Estate wish you a happy and healthy New Year!
