Hops are Hip

January 13th, 2020

Hop farming is hip. The Litchfield Hills is becoming a mecca of hop farmers and microbreweries.  The craft beer movement complements our area’s agricultural roots, farm-to-table values, and creative energy.

Great Falls Brewing Company occupies the North Canaan’s historic Union Station that has been restored to offer a taproom that is open 7 days a week! Big Elm Brewery in Sheffield, MA is open for tours on Saturdays and Sundays. Norbrook Farm Brewery in Colebrook, CT offers 10 crafted varieties on tap and enjoys a beautiful country setting.  Tree House Brewing Co. has more than doubled in size since 2017 and become one of the most visited destination breweries in the world!

Hops are the spice of beer – experience the flavor of the Berkshires by touring the trail of independent breweries and hop farms who have spiced up modern farming the in tri-state region.
