[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]“Love your home.” It’s a simple concept and one that successful businesswoman Joan Osofsky has used as the foundation upon which to build her thriving local business, Hammertown. Originally opened in 1987 in an old horse barn on her property just outside of the village of Pine Plains, NY, Joan has grown the business to include two other brick-and-mortar stores (Rhinebeck, NY and Gt. Barrington, MA), a strong online presence, and an interior design and consultation business.

The quintessential lifestyle store, Hammertown can best be described in a word as inviting. Upon walking into any of the three stores, you feel instantly “at home.” Though brimming with furniture, lighting, rugs, cookware, linens, clothing & accessories, gifts, toys and more, the meticulous display of every item culminates in an overall sense of unpretentious comfortability. Vignettes of bedrooms, living rooms, and sitting areas perfectly positioned throughout the stores not only offer inspiration but beg for you to sit and leaf through a coffee table book. There is no such thing as a “quick stop” at Hammertown because you are drawn to every nook and cranny of the space.

It is for these reasons (and more!) that Hammertown has been recognized by publications such as House Beautiful, Country Living Magazine, and Best of the Hudson Valley. Whether moving to a new home or redecorating your current home, we highly recommend paying a visit to Hammertown for inspiration!
